Free Hams, Turkeys Available Today At Cops Who Care Giveaway In Bay Shore

Free holiday food will be distributed Thursday afternoon at First Baptist Church, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — Bay Shore residents in need will be able to receive free holiday food this week as Suffolk County Police and New York State Police team up for the 18th annual Cops Who Care food giveaway, police said.

The event will take place Thursday, Dec. 18, from noon to 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 175 Second Ave. in Bay Shore.

Officers will distribute free hams and turkeys on a first-come, first-served basis, with one item per family, while supplies last, police said.

The annual giveaway is hosted by the Suffolk County Police Department in partnership with the New York State Police and is supported by local community partners, including Embassy Diner, First Baptist Church, and Miller & Caggiano, LLP.

Organizers said the event aims to help ensure local families have food on their tables during the holiday season.
