83-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit By Car In Suffolk: Police
The man was crossing the street when he was struck, police say.
BAY SHORE, NY — An 83-year-old man who was struck by a car and seriously injured in Bay Shore on Wednesday night has died from his injuries, Suffolk County police said.
Mario Rojas, of Bay Shore, was walking eastbound across Fifth Avenue, about 50 feet north of Dalton Road when he was struck by a northbound 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML350.
He was taken via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured, police said.
The Mercedes was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
