'Energy And Innovation': Beloved Eatery Returns With New Cafe On LI's South Shore
A beloved Long Island eatery that closed in 2023 has returned to the South Shore, offering a grab-and-go, elevated breakfast and lunch menu.

BAY SHORE, NY — After a nearly two-year hiatus, a beloved breakfast and lunch cafe has returned to Bay Shore.
Roto All Day, the revised and revamped Roto Grocery, which closed in 2023, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, joined by community members and the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce.
The reimagined restaurant featuring artisan sandwiches, seasonal bites, and house-made specialties, crafted with locally sourced ingredients, is the brainchild of co-owners Brock Ferraro and Jack Monahan.

"We are thrilled to bring Roto to Shoregate and continue our journey of providing exceptional culinary experiences to our community," Ferraro said. "This new location gives us the opportunity to grow our menu, connect with more of the Bay Shore community and serve everyone from local residents to beachgoers heading to and from the train."
The new 1,650-square-foot cafe is at the corner of 4th Avenue and Mechanicsville Road within the Shoregate apartment complex, a block from the Bay Shore Long Island Rail Road station. According to Ferraro and Monahan, the cafe offers an "elevated approach to breakfast and lunch " that accommodates commuters with a grab-and-go layout, open shelving and counter seating.

"Roto represents the energy and innovation that continues to drive Bay Shore forward," said Eddie Fraser, president of the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce. "We’re excited to welcome them back and thrilled to see them thrive in this beautiful new space at Shoregate."
The cafe is the newest addition to the 418-unit Shoregate, a transit-oriented residential development that was completed in 2024 on the former Touro College site.
"Roto is the perfect fit for Shoregate," said Kelley Coughlan Heck of TRITEC Real Estate Company, which operates Shoregate. "Brock and Jack’s passion and creativity embody the spirit of Bay Shore’s downtown revival, and we’re proud to support a business that brings such quality, character and community to the neighborhood."
