Flavored Vapes Found In Smoke Shop Bust In Bay Shore: PD

Suffolk County police arrested a Bay Shore smoke shop employee as part of "Operation Smoke Out" on Sunday, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore smoke shop was busted Sunday for selling flavored vape products, according to Suffolk County Police.

Ajantha Ihalagama, 40, of Bay Shore, was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and sale of flavored vape products, a public health law violation, after selling vape products at Bay Smoke Shop at 1544 Union Boulevard in Bay Shore, police said.

The investigation was part of Suffolk Police Department's “Operation Smoke Out," which aims to crack down on underage and illegal vape sales.

On the same day, police also made arrests at Vishma Smoke in West Islip after they discovered an owner and an employee selling weapons and flavored vape products, police said.

According to Suffolk PD, around 10,000 flavored vapes were seized by police between both stores.
