Teen Hit By Car And Hospitalized On Long Island: Police

A Long Island teen was hospitalized on Saturday morning after getting hit by a car while riding his bike in Brightwaters, police say.

BRIGHTWATERS, NY — A teenage bicyclist was injured in a Deer Park rollover car crash on Saturday morning, according to Suffolk County police.

Dayron Butler, 14, of Brightwaters was riding a bicycle westbound on Howells Road near Manatuck Boulevard when he tried to cross the street and was hit by a westbound 2011 Honda CRV driven by Nube Cajamarca, 36, of Bay Shore, police said.

Butler was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with serious injuries and Cajamarca was not injured, police said.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check.
