'Love And Light': New Italian Restaurant Opens On Long Island's South Shore
A Long Island gastropub that closed its doors after 6 years has reopened and rebranded with a new mission and an Italian menu.

BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore gastropub has reopened and rebranded with a new mission and an Italian menu.
After six years in business, The Linwood Restaurant & Cocktails, which opened on Main Street in 2019, has reopened as Bar Lucy, a "staple Italian bar and restaurant" aiming to create "magical moments" for its guests. The Linwood's owner, management and executive chef remain with Bar Lucy.
"Our mission at Bar Lucy is to send love and light to our community through exceptional hospitality and inspired cuisine," Isis Rayne, Bar Lucy's marketing director, told Patch. "Every guest will be seen, heard and appreciated."

Rayne explained that "Lucy" is derived from the Italian phrase "la luce," which translates to "the light."
While the Bar Lucy team takes pride in "bringing the spirit of Italian cooking to life" with "simple ingredients, seasonal produce and bold, time-honored flavors," it also aims to create "magical moments" for its clientele.

"Bar Lucy is dedicated to being just that for the neighborhood, a staple Italian bar and restaurant where people can escape to have exceptional service, food, drinks and experiences with their people," Rayne said.
Menu offerings include wood-fired "pizzettes," salads, pastas, appetizers, seafood dishes and entrees, including chicken, veal and pork dishes, desserts and cocktails.
Bar Lucy is located at 150 E. Main St. in Bay Shore. It's open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
