Man Hit By Car And Hospitalized On Long Island: Police
A man was crossing the street when he was hit by a car and seriously injured on Long Island on Friday night, Suffolk County police say.
BAY SHORE, NY — A pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured in Bay Shore on Friday, according to Suffolk County police.
A man was crossing the street under the Fifth Avenue bridge around 9:45 p.m. when he was hit by a 2005 Chrysler Town & County minivan driven by Christopher Davidson in the left lane of the westbound Sunrise Highway service road, police said.
The pedestrian, who police have not yet identified, was transported to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said.

Police said Davidson, 45, of West Islip, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information may call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
