A Long Island man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl until she gave birth to his baby, the DA says.
BAY SHORE, NY — A Long Island man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a child for over a decade until she gave birth to his baby, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney today.
The 32-year-old Bay Shore man was sentenced to 18 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in March to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and other related charges, the DA said.
"The acts that this defendant subjected the victim to are unconscionable," Tierney said. "Our hearts go out to her for her bravery in coming forward. Her action will protect others from abuse."

According to the investigation, between Fall 2012 and September 2022, the defendant subjected the girl to repeated acts of sexual abuse, beginning when she was only 6 years old and continuing until she was 16 years old, the DA said.
The defendant impregnated the victim when she was only 15 years old and he stopped sexually abusing her when she gave birth to his child, which was confirmed with subsequent DNA paternity testing, the DA said.
