How do you know the teacher?
I am the class parent who is speaking on behalf of all the parents in Mrs. Beck’s class.
What does this person teach?
Special education, kindergarten.
Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
Mrs. Beck is extremely creative in creating and implementing individualized lessons and activities to meet each child’s unique needs. As parents of children with special needs, we are so grateful and thankful as to how much our children progressed. Some of our children enter Mrs. Beck's class non-verbal and with little to no social skills. She proved again and again throughout the school year that anything is possible. My child is now talking and made friends.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
It takes an extremely special person to do what Mrs. Beck does. Teaching special ed, especially kindergarten, is a difficult mountain to climb but Mrs. Beck does it effortlessly. She not only guides her students, but the parents as well, who are going through the process of accepting their child as special needs. Children within her class are not only learning the curriculum but are learning how to play, speak, regulate their emotions, etc.
