1 Person Hurt In Bell Boulevard Blaze

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — One person is hurt after a blaze broke out between two buildings on Bell Boulevard on Friday morning, fire officials said.

Just after 10 a.m., the fire department reported a fire between two buildings at 39-22 Bell Boulevard. The two-story building, which has a travel agency on the first floor, currently has residents living in two apartments.

By 10:28 the blaze was under control, according to the FDNY, but one person was hurt. Shortly after 11:00 a.m. fire officials told Patch that the person was waiting to be taken to the hospital.

The FDNY did not say how the person was injured, or what their condition is.

Fire officials also did not say how the fire started, but according to online reports fire marshals are heading to the building to look into it.

Just before 11:30 a.m., an hour and a half after the fire first started, the cause remains unknown, and is still under investigation.
