'Vicious' Pit Bulls Attacked Man In Crocheron Park: Lawsuit
The pit bulls suddenly attacked Peter Thorne, causing him "great pain and suffering" that still affects him two months later, the suit says.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Peter Thorne was enjoying a walk in Bayside's Crocheron Park on Aug. 20 when his day suddenly changed for the worse.
Without warning or provocation he was attacked by two pit bulls, causing him "great pain and suffering" that continues to affect him over two months later, a new lawsuit contends.
The lawsuit, filed on Oct. 25 against a group of people who live a couple of blocks away and own the pit bulls, states that the owners knew of their pets' "vicious propensities" but didn't control them enough at the park to prevent the attack.

Syliva, Sam, Richard, Aaron and Ethan Geffen, as well as Luz Lozado, are named as the Baysiders who reportedly own the dogs, and know that they are "dangerous, wild, [and] vicious", according to the suit.
Immediately after the attack, Thorne was left "sick, sore, lame and disabled," and he is still dealing with internal and external injuries, records show.

As a result of his ongoing heath issues, Thorne is suing all of the named defendants for acting "recklessly and wantonly" by not controlling their dogs enough to prevent the attack.
