“It’s based on a traditional Asian festival that’s always held around the full moon at this time of year,” she said.

Attendees will have a variety of activities in which to take part.

“We’ll have someone reading a story of what the moon festival is,” Scheid said. “They’ll get some moon wish flakes that they can toss into the creek and use to make a wish.”

Then, an astronomer will discuss the moon and allow attendees to look through a telescope. Visitors will also be able to make lantern crafts.

The fee is $10 per person for APEC members and $12 per person for non-members. Families of three who are members will pay $25, while non-member families will get in for $31.

And families of four with members will pay $35, while non-member families will get in for $43.
