Bayside Bishop Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 12-Year-Old Boy

BAYSIDE, QUEENS – A Bayside bishop has been accused of sexually assaulting a pre-teen boy who was a member of his congregation.

Bishop Jesé Milagrosa, the leader of Our Lady of La Salette Church on 204th St. at 47th Avenue, was arrested and charged with repeatedly assaulting the boy over three years, starting in 2011.

Acting District Attorney Ryan said, “The defendant is accused of using his position as head of the church to take advantage of an innocent child for his own sexual gratification,” Queens' Acting District Attorney John M. Ryan said Friday.

Milagrosa, 69, was arraigned Thursday night on charges of predatory sexual assault against a child, sexual conduct against a child and criminal sexual act. He was held pending $250,000 bail.

If convicted, the defendant faces 10 years to up to life in prison.

The complaint said the boy was only 12 when the assaults began in May 2011. They continued until April 2014, the DA said.
