Bayside Firefighter Hit With Sex Charges While Off-Duty

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A Bayside firefighter faces accusations he sexually assaulted and abused his girlfriend, police said according to a new report.

James P. Kennedy, 36, was arrested at his Bayside home on July 23, the New York Post first reported.

An NYPD spokesperson told the Post that a woman “didn’t want to get intimate and [Kennedy] did and that’s how it started.”

Kennedy has worked for the FDNY since at least 2015 and earned over $116,000 last year, the Post reported.

He was charged with sex abuse unlawful imprisonment, assault and harassment, according to NYPD charges detailed by the Post.
