BAYSIDE, NY — History buffs may be in for a hoot.

The Bayside Historical Society is presenting a free Civil War Reenactment on Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 208 Totten Ave.

During the event, people will get to walk in the footsteps of Union soldiers of Company K of the 67th NY Infantry for a day. There, they will be able to interact with the “infantry” and discover aspects of life in the 1860s, such as how soldiers back then thought, ate, dressed, fought and endured the war.
