Bayside Stop & Shop To Offer Seniors-Only Shopping Time
The Bayside Stop & Shop will open earlier for customers aged 60 and over starting Thursday

BAY TERRACE, QUEENS — The Bayside Stop & Shop will open earlier for customers aged 60 and over starting Thursday to help protect them from the spread of the new coronavirus, which health experts say is most dangerous for the elderly.
The Stop & Shop at 213-15 26th Ave. will open exclusively to the 60-plus crowd from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. daily, according to a news release.
Customers won't have to show ID, but Stop & Shop says its store associates reserve the right to ask younger shoppers to leave if they show up during the seniors-only shopping time.

The seniors-only shopping time will be available at all Stop & Shop stores as of Thursday.
"We’re making the decision to offer this every day of the week to allow for community members in this age category to shop in a less crowded environment, which better enables social distancing," Stop & Shop President Gordon Reid said in a statement. "They’ll also be shopping prior to any other customers entering."
