Bayside Tire Thieves Caught In Stolen Getaway Car: NYPD
Police on Wednesday nabbed two tire thieves racing away from the scene of the crime in what turned out to be a stolen car.

AUBURNDALE, QUEENS — Police on Wednesday nabbed two tire thieves racing away from the scene of the crime in what turned out to be a stolen car.
The NYPD caught wind of the theft after an 82-year-old man reported two people taking the tires and rims off his car early Wednesday on 189th Street near Hollis Court Boulevard, then driving away in a gray minivan.
Officers spotted a car matching that description, then discovered it had been reported stolen near 220th Street and 73rd Avenue in late January, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

The officers arrested the two people inside — 23-year-old New Jersey resident Emanuel Collazo and 18-year-old Florida resident Angel Tavarez — on charges of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
No one should wake up to find their car on cinderblocks.
