Bin Laden Death Won't 'Rectify the Evil,' Says Brother of Fallen FDNY Captain

Captain Kevin Cassidy died after becoming ill from the Ground Zero site.

FDNY Captain Kevin Cassidy, who was exposed to carcinogens at the site of Ground Zero, died in 2009—and won’t return to life now that Osama bin Laden has been killed.

“I am glad Bin Laden is dead but it still does not change or rectify the evil he has left behind,” said Steve Cassidy, Kevin’s younger brother.

Cassidy fought fires out . He reportedly died of kidney cancer at age 59, after being exposed to chemicals during the search mission at Ground Zero. He a wife and two children.

“I will admit it brought a smile to my face when I heard the news that our military did the job with no casualties,” said Cassidy, whose own son will be heading to Middle East in August with the Air Force.
