Burglars Take Purses, Money From Whitestone Home: Cops

Surveillance video caught the two thieves robbing a Whitestone man's home last week, police say.

WHITESTONE, NY — Police are looking for a pair of burglars who they say stole purses and money from a Whitestone home last week. The two men broke into the home near 24th Avenue and 146th Street through a back door just before 1 p.m. on Jan. 4, the NYPD said.

The burglars allegedly took handbags and money worth an estimated total of $6,500 before fleeing in an unknown direction, according to police.

The men, both thought to be 25 to 35 years old, were caught on a surveillance camera at the home, police said. One was last seen a black hoodie and blue jeans, while the other was last seen in a blue hoodie, dark pants and a blue baseball cap, according to the NYPD.
