Free Black Friday Hike At Alley Pond Park Guided By City Rangers
The hour-long hike, which kicks off at 10:00 a.m., will acquaint park-goers with the Alley Pond Giant, New York's oldest living organism.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — New York City is offering a cost-free alternative to Black Friday shopping.
Instead of trekking through a crowded department store or browsing a backed-up website the day after Thanksgiving, you can explore one of the city's parks on a guided Black Friday hike; including a jaunt through northeast Queens' Alley Pond Park.
The one-hour hike, which kicks off at the Alley Pond Adventure Course at 10:00 a.m. on Nov. 26th, will acquaint park-goers with the Alley Pond Giant, a roughly 400-year-old tree that's credited as the oldest living organism in New York.
