Reader Harvey G. Beringer is the author of the below letter to the editor:  <blockquote> For more than four months, I have attempted to secure the use of the field at Bayside High School for the use of the community to walk around the track. Under the terms of the Take the Field program, it is mandated that the community have such access. I have been told by the DOE that it is at the "discretion of the principal". It seems that Mr. Athy has no interest in satisfying the request of the community to use the field. If he has no interest in the community, the community should not help fund raising events at the school such as their hoiliday boutique.   </blockquote>
