On Tuesday, a motorcade helmed by state Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, traveled to 22 sites throughout northeast Queens to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.
A wreath for each victim was hung on a street sign that had been renamed in their honor. Avella said the wreaths will hang for the next one to two weeks, before he and his staff return to collect them.
