Queens Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Cross Island Parkway: NYPD

A Whitestone resident was killed Tuesday evening after he crashed his motorcycle on the Cross Island Parkway, according to police.

WHITESTONE, QUEENS — A Whitestone resident was killed Tuesday evening after he crashed his motorcycle on the Cross Island Parkway.

Kevin Stout was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle along the Cross Island Parkway about 7:40 p.m. when he crashed into a median as he approached Exit 36, near the Whitestone Expressway, police said.

Stout, 57, suffered a traumatic head injury and died at the scene, according to police. He was about a mile from home.

Stout is the second motorcyclist killed on the Cross Island Parkway in a three-day span, and at least the third motorcyclist to die in a crash in Queens in the last eight days.

NYPD officer Richard Holt died on April 25 after a drag-racing driver on the parkway struck the back of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and knocked him to the ground, the New York Daily News reported.

Holt was killed near 17th Avenue in Bayside, about three miles away from the site of Tuesday's crash.

On April 20, another motorcyclist was killed in Queens after he lost control and crashed on the Van Wyck Expressway in Kew Gardens Hills.
