Rosh Hashanah begins on the evening of Sept. 4 and lasts through the evening of Sept. 6. Bayside Douglaston Patch has compiled a list of local services and special events taking place this weekend.

Sept. 4: The day's candle lighting will begin at 6:57 p.m.

Sept. 6: Candle lighting at 6:54 p.m.

Sept. 7: Parashat Ha’Azinum, which is the 53rd weekly Torah portion in the annual cycle of Torah readings, begins at 8:23 p.m.

Oakland Little Neck Jewish Center (49-10 Little Neck Parkway)

Sept. 4: Maariv services at 6:30 p.m.

Sept. 5: Shacharit at 8:30 a.m., Tashlich at 5:30 p.m. and Maariv at 7 p.m.

Sept. 6: Shacharat at 8:30 a.m., Kabbalat Shabbat at 6:30 p.m.

Sept. 7: Shabbat Shacharit at 9 a.m.

Sept. 8: Sunday Minyan at 8:45 a.m.
