Thousands Of Toys Collected In Bayside For Military Families

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Thousands of toys were collected for military families at the 77th Sustainment Brigade in Fort Totten through Friday.

The toys were collected at the office of Senator John Liu in Bayside, Champions Martial Arts schools, PS 242Q, IBPS (International Buddhist Progress Society), and by Operation Child Rescue throughout the month of December.

“The holiday season is the perfect time to give back and show our appreciation to the families of our local hometown heroes at Fort Totten, many of whom are stationed around the world and unable to spend time with their families,” said Senator John Liu.

Champions Martial Arts helped donate 943 toys.

Toy donations are heading toward the families stationed at 77th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Totten in Bayside. The majority of soldiers will be deployed this holiday season, according to a statement by Liu.
