Virtual Art Show Featuring Queens Artists Returns To Bayside
The Bayside Historical Society's month-long show includes two online galleries with some work on display at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — An annual show featuring Queens artists is returning to Bayside this month and you don't have to leave your couch to see it.
Bayside Historical Society's Winter Art Show is back for a 21st year with dozens of pieces displayed in virtual galleries online as a COVID safety precaution for the second year in a row.
All of the pieces of art are made by people who live or work in Queens, with images divided between a main gallery and a student gallery, which will be online for the month of February.

A team of judges, led by retired art professor Neill Slaughter, commented on the work of every artist in lieu of the usual presentation of limited awards.
"We are cognizant of what is entailed in the creative endeavors we saw presented in this year’s online exhibition and want to compliment everyone’s efforts," said Slaughter of his judging process, noting that the pandemic made it harder for some to access art supplies and classes.

Some of this year's artwork is also on display at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center near the former Tess Morgan store, located at 212-59 26th Ave, art show organizers said.
