1 Bed Stuy Restaurant Lands On NYT's 100 Best Ranking
The New York Times put one Bed Stuy eatery among its 100 top restaurant picks across the city. Some 19 Brooklyn spots made the top 100.

BED STUY, NY — One Bed Stuy eatery landed on the New York Times' top 100 NYC eatery list released this week.
Ali's Trinbago Roti Shop, located at 1267 Fulton Street, took the 88th spot for its "crumbly and pillowy" roti, curries, stews and chicken, according to the ranking. Be sure to add tamarind chutney, "sweet and sour and singing with ginger," according to the New York Times.
"After more than 30 years in the neighborhood, Ali’s Trinidad Roti Shop has become a go-to Bed-Stuy institution for chicken, shrimp and goat rotis, and the restaurant’s "doubles"—curried chickpeas wrapped in a pan-fried flatbread," NYC Tourism and Conventions said on its website.

The beloved Brooklyn Caribbean takeout spot has attracted lines for years, according to NYC Tourism and Conventions.
"I love the vibe. It's crazy the amount of love that was in that room," said food content creator JL Jupiter, who reviewed the restaurant in January. "I know ya'll hungry, Bed Stuy!"

Brooklyn landed 19 spots in the top 100, including eight in Williamsburg and one in Prospect Heights.
The number one spot went to Tatiana, an Upper West Side spot serving a fusion of American, Caribbean and Creole flavors. The top ranking Brooklyn spot was Aska, a Scandinavian tasting restaurant in Williamsburg in the No. 16 spot.
"Aska has outlasted almost all the other local restaurants that came in on the New Nordic wave. It didn't just survive; it flourished, maturing into a remarkable and original restaurant," the Pete Wells wrote in his review.
Williamsburg's Lilia followed closely behind in the No. 17 spot on account of its high end Italian flavors stripped down in "elemental" dishes. Beloved Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Bronx food truck Birria-Landia took the No. 18 spot.
