1 Punch Killed A 61-Year-Old In Bed-Stuy; Man Arrested Year Later

BED-STUY, NY — A man accused of knocking a 61-year-old down with one fatal blow was arrested Wednesday, over a year after the Bed-Stuy attack, police said.

Isaih James, 20, now faces murder and robbery charges for the May 25, 2022 assault, police said Thursday.

James and another person approached Victor Vega, 61, near his home on Lexington Avenue and punched him in the head, according to police and surveillance footage.

Surveillance video shows Vega fall to the ground with his head under a parked car before one of the people seemingly takes items from his pockets.

Vega was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
