17-Year-Old Charged In Triple Bed-Stuy Shooting, Cops Say

The teen faces attempted murder and assault charges for the shooting, which hit a man in the leg and injured two bystanders, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A teenager was charged with attempted murder this week in a triple shooting that erupted on a Bed-Stuy street corner.

The 17-year-old, who is not named, was arrested Monday, three weeks after the dispute at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Fulton Street, police said.

Cops had been looking for three people who got into a dispute with a 33-year-old man around 1 a.m. on July 11. As the dispute escalated, one of the three took out a gun and fired at the 33-year-old, hitting him in the leg. The gunshots also hit two bystanders after ricocheting off the pavement, police said.

The bystanders, two 50-year-old men, were hit in the foot and the leg, police said.

All three victims were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

The 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder, three counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, police said.
