18-Year-Old Fatally Shot While Parked On Bed-Stuy Street: Cops

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — An 18-year-old was fatally shot while sitting in a parked car in Bed-Stuy over the weekend, according to police.

The teen, who police later identified as Jayquan McKenley, was sitting in a parked car on Greene Avenue near Lewis Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Sunday when he was shot in the chest, according to police.

McKenley was taken to the hospital by private means, where he died from his injuries, police said. He was from the Bronx, records show.

Police discovered McKenley had been shot on Gates Avenue after responding to a ShotSpotter alert on the block and canvassing local hospitals, according to cops.

There were no arrests in the homicide as of Monday morning.
