Weeks After Bed-Stuy Street Shooting, Local 22-Year-Old Dies in the Hospital
Maurice Williams died at Kings County Hospital on Thursday, police say.
BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Maurice Williams, a 22-year-old Bed-Stuy resident, died at the hospital Thursday, a little more than two weeks after he was shot in the head at the corner of Rochester Avenue and Herkimer Street in Bed-Stuy, according to the NYPD.
Williams was listed as a resident of the affordable GreenHomeNYC building at 1825 Atlantic Ave. (pictured above).
Police said they received a report of a shooting at that intersection around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23. When they arrived, they said, and found Williams lying on the ground, "unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his head."

Emergency responders transported Williams to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, police said.
A little more than two weeks later — on Thursday, Dec. 8 — Williams succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital, according to the NYPD.

Homicide detectives have yet to arrest anyone for Williams' murder. The investigation is ongoing, police said Friday.
