29-Year-Old Bed-Stuy Woman Could Serve Life For After-Sex Hotel Murder
Pamela Hanson was just 19 when she fatally stabbed David Diaz, 27, in the neck and face in Bay Ridge, according to the Brooklyn DA.

BED-STUY, NY — A 29-year-old Bed-Stuy woman was handed a prison sentence of 18 years to life Monday for stabbing a man to death in 2007, after having sex with him at the infamous Best Western-Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.
"This defendant suddenly attacked and robbed her intimate partner, killing him. She has now been held responsible for taking a life," acting District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement.
Pamela Hanson, who was 19 at the time, pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder after nearly a decade of on-and-off trials.

Some more gruesome details from the 2007 crime scene, via the DA's Office:
According to the defendant’s own statements, after engaging in consensual intercourse with the victim, the defendant removed a knife she had previously hidden under a pillow and proceeded to repeatedly stab the victim about the face, neck and torso.
The defendant confessed to taking the victim’s bank card and cellphone. The investigation revealed that the defendant attempted to use the victim’s bank card to purchase shoes at Yvette’s Boutique in Downtown Brooklyn, but that attempt was denied. She disposed of both the cellphone and bank card.
The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, a local paper, covered Hanson's trial by jury in 2009. The paper said Hanson was an "exotic dancer" who claimed her sex client, David Diaz, swore at her and spit on her before she stabbed him to death.

Hanson's defense attorney, Michael Mays, reportedly argued Hanson acted out of self-defense.
But the city's lead prosecutor, Mark Hale, argued it was a brutal murder-turned-robbery in which Hanson took advantage of a "disposable" client.
The bloody murder was committed within the walls of the notorious Best Western-Gregory Hotel at 8315 4th Ave. on Dec. 2, 2007, around 3 p.m., according to court documents. Diaz' body was found by a cleaning maid at the hotel the next day, naked and covered in a blanket.
