81st Pct. Police Blotter

Crime in the 81^st Precinct overall experienced a 0 percent change for the week of November 21- November 27 (34 incidents), compared to this same time period in 2010. For the month, crime is up 5 percent (138 incidents, versus 131 incidents), compared to this same 28-day period last year. And year to date, crime is up 2 percent (1,307 incidents, versus 1,276 incidents), compared to this same time in 2010.

The  81^st precinct has no incidents to report this week in its public crime blotter (all other incidents cannot be disclosed for security purposes). However, an 81^st Pct. Spokesperson advises:

• There’s been a spike in burglaries. Please look out for and report any unusual and/or suspicious characters or activities you see on your blocks. Look out for your neighbor’s homes.
• Please exercise increased awareness of your surroundings and your electronic devices around the following corridors:  Fulton/Utica, Broadway/Gates, Willoughby/Myrtle
• As you are holiday shopping, please be alerted to the fact that criminals will be shopping too—for your merchandise. Please be alert and careful while carrying packages.
