BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — The man who is accused of shooting and injuring an NYPD detective in Brooklyn is facing several charges, including attempted murder, the NYPD said on Saturday.

Stichel shot the Brooklyn North Warrant Squad detective in the leg near the corner of Decatur Street near Throop Avenue early Friday morning, police said.

Officers made a U-turn to follow Stichel, who began to run, O'Neill said. Cops then got out of the car and surrounded him when he began firing and shot the detective in the upper right thigh, O'Neill said.
