Angry Over 'Guilty' Verdict, Brooklyn Teen Allegedly Head-Butts Court Officer
Now he's facing even more prison time.

East Flatbush resident Dante Newman, 19, and his older brother Treyvon, 20, were each sentenced to 40 years in prison on Tuesday.
Their crime? About a month earlier, on June 25, a Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice had found the brothers guilty of luring a 27-year-old man to a building with intention to rob him — then shooting him as he tried to flee.
But now, 19-year-old Newman is facing an additional 14 years in prison for his alleged reaction when the ”guilty” verdict came down.

According to a report from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, Newman assaulted the two court officers tasked with removing him from the courtroom — punching one and head-butting the other.
The District Attorney said that, after the verdict in their trial was read in open court and they were both found guilty, Dante Newman allegedly assaulted two court officers after being removed from the courtroom. He allegedly butted one officer in the head and, later, punched a second officer. Both officers were treated at New York University Langone Cobble Hill and released.
