BROOKLYN, NY — An arrest has been made in connection with the car crash that left a Brooklyn man dead last year, according to police.

Police say that on Tuesday, 23-year-old Shyreem Linares was arrested and charged with two counts: failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care, in connection with the August 2024 crash that killed 82-year-old Valentin Radames.

On the day of the crash, Linares was driving his 2023 Ford Van near Quincy Street and Marcy Avenue around 12 p.m. when he struck Radames while making a left turn.
