Arrest Made In Late-Night Bed-Stuy Murder, Police Say

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A Bed-Stuy man faces a murder charge after another Brooklyn man was found fatally in his building, police announced late Monday night.

Dennis Peniston, 36, stands accused of stabbing Desmond Holmes, 35, inside his building on Vernon and Nostrand avenues about 10 p.m. Sunday night, said police.

Holmes, of Sheepshead Bay, later died in Woodhull Hospital and police said Monday afternoon they had a person of interest in custody.

Police officials did not say if a knife or other weapon had been found at the scene.
