Proceeds from the tasting event will benefit the local businesses and Seeds in the Middle, a local charity that fights food insecurity by empowering and educating students and schools on healthy and sustainable food consumption.
Bed-Stuy's hungry bellies will also benefit local schools.
"Our fundraising goal this year is to help up to 18 schools in central Brooklyn's lowest income neighborhoods overcome food insecurity by creating their own healthy businesses while boosting academic achievement and student change-makers as well," Tastes of Brooklyn said on its website.
The first Tastes of Brooklyn took over Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights on April 1. Organizers said the sunny festival was a huge success.
"Isn’t Franklin Avenue sensationally delicious! Thanks to all who came out. We appreciate you — including the sun!" Tastes of Brooklyn posted on its Instagram.
