A Bed-Stuy Home Gets De-Cluttered on Upcoming Episode of 'Clean House New York'

Catch this episode of "Clean House New York" on Monday, December 12, at 11:00pm EST, on the Style Network

Only a few months ago, life for Bed-Stuy resident Larry Fisher seemed it couldn’t get any messier.

After separating from his wife and kids, Fisher had to move all of his furniture and personal belongings from his two-floor apartment onto one floor.

And the recession wasn’t any less forgiving. Fisher, who was an avid collector of quirky “things” and owned a junk store called Vortex in Brooklyn, had to make another hard choice when he shuttered his business and moved all of his merchandise from a 2,500 square-foot storefront into his already crowded apartment.

He needed more space for his children to visit, and to make matters worst, his new girlfriend, Rachel, was considering moving in with him. But he knew that his relationship with Rachel and with his children was in jeopardy if things did not change, quickly!

Well, lucky for Fisher, the heavens must have been listening: One weekend while selling from his table at the Brooklyn Flea Market, Fisher came across a flyer for the television show, “Clean House New York,” on the Style Network.

The show claimed that it would “transform the Big Apple’s messiest dwelling disasters into a warm and welcoming oases," and the show was looking for potential candidates who needed help de-cluttering their home.

(Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!)

“Calling the show was one of the smartest things I ever did,” Fisher told Bed-Stuy Patch.

Leading the charge to help Fisher tidy his home were New York designers and Clean House New York hosts Nina Ferrer and Michael Moeller.

So how does the episode unfold?

“I have no idea how the episode unfolds, because I haven’t even seen the final edit,” said Fisher. “But I’m either a very funny man or a jerk.”

But to one thing Fisher can attest is that the style hosts performed a miracle makeover in his apartment. His relationship with his kids is in tact, and things between him and his girlfriend are better than ever.

“My girlfriend moved in, my kids can come over and visit now, and they love the new place,” said Fisher.

Fisher, Rachel and his entire family will be watching the episode for the first time as well. Fisher admits, already he misses the lights and cameras and his housecleaning hosts.

“I’m one who likes attention,” said Fisher. “And during the entire taping, I was able to get a lot of attention. And when everybody left, it was sad.”

Even more interesting will be to see how Fisher is doing six, twelve months from now. Will his home and life still be in tact? Or will the cameras once again call his name?
