Bed-Stuy: Pack Your Pre-Thanksgiving Weekend With These Events
The weekend is all about museums, parties, shopping, eating well, and good swaps.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Thanksgiving is almost here, so chances are you might need a break from preparing for family arguments and looking up mashed potato recipes to make them exactly as clumpy as your mom likes them.
So we've put together some ideas for events you can do alone or with the whole family this weekend in the neighborhood to raise your spirits and get you ready for truly giving thanks this week.
Brown Memorial Baptist Church: The Centennial Celebration Homecoming Weekend 100th Anniversary Celebration

When: Friday, Nov. 18 at 6:45 p.m. & Sunday, Nov. 20 at the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services
Where: Brown Memorial Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 52 Gates Ave. & the Church Sanctuary located at 484 Washington Ave.

What: The celebration on Friday will feature a visual arts exhibit themed Generations of Faith, tours of the historic sanctuary and remarks from Borough President Eric Adams.
On Sunday at BMBC’s 8 a.m. church service, Rev. Clinton M. Miller, Senior Pastor, will give the anniversary sermon, and guest speaker Rev. Dr. Renita J. Weems from Ray of Hope Community Church, located in Nashville, TN will preach at the 11 a.m. service.

Stop 'n' Swap Bed-Stuy
When: Saturday, Nov. 19, 12:00 p.m.
Where: 272 MacDonough St., Bed-Stuy Brooklyn
What: Bring clean, reusable, portable items such as clothing, house wares, games, books, & toys that you no longer need, and take home something new-to-you, free! You don’t have to bring something to take something. Please do NOT bring: furniture, large items, expired or open food, unsealed personal care products, medicine, dirty or ripped clothing, fabric scraps, incomplete toys and games, non-working electronics, magazines, or sharp objects.

Music: Peter and the Wolf Lost in the Brooklyn Museum!
When: Saturday, Nov. 19, 1:00 p.m.
Where: Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn
What: The Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra takes you on an imaginative adventure through their galleries with Prokofiev’s beloved tale and other great music. Clown and comic actor Andy Sapora narrates. Images of their collection accompany the concert in a video created by Natasha Kermani.
Tickets, available at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music website, are $20 for adults; $10 for children ages 5 to 16; and free for children ages 4 and under.

Magic at Coney!!!
When: Sunday, Nov. 20th at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Coney Island Museum, 1208 Surf Ave., Brooklyn
What: Magical Promotions, together with Coney Island USA, presents an afternoon of fun and wonder for the entire family. “Magic at Coney!!!” is a magical variety show highlighting a vast array of magicians; featuring illusionists, escape artists, mentalists and close-up magicians from around the world.
Admission is only $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

What: From the Facebook event: You are invited to "The Plug," a new pop-up experience. It's half pop-up shop, half day party, all trap, pure dopeness.
