Bed-Stuy Pastor Stabbed To Death By Her Son: NYPD, Reports

Tracey Sydnor, executive pastor of Upper Room Baptist Church, was found stabbed in her East New York home, according to police and reports.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A pastor at a Bed-Stuy church was fatally stabbed by her son in their home over the weekend, according to police and reports.

Tracey Sydnor, 61, was found with multiple stab wounds in the Wyona Street home just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, according to police. Sydnor served as the executive pastor of Upper Room Baptist Church on Van Buren Street.

Sydnor, who served as the executive pastor of Upper Room Baptist Church on Van Buren Street, was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital, police said.

"Please keep the Sydnor, Francis, Chambers and Upper Room Family in prayer as we mourn the loss of our Mother, sister, cousin, friend and Executive Pastor," the church wrote on their Facebook page this week.

Police told the New York Post that Sydnor was stabbed by during a domestic dispute with her 40-year-old son Kenji Francis, who shared the home, according to the outlet and police.

Francis was taken into custody and has been charged with murder, according to police.

Sydnor had been appointed the executive pastor at the church in November, according to the Facebook page.
