Beloved Deli 'Regina's Grocery' Opens In Bed-Stuy
Regina's Grocery opened its fifth location on Bedford Avenue last week, bringing the neighborhood classic sandwiches and coffee.

BED-STUY, NY — The newest location of the popular New York City deli Regina's Grocery officially opened in Bed-Stuy on Thursday, bringing the neighborhood its authentic vibe and classic sandwiches.
"We built another one," Regina's owners wrote on Instagram last week.
Owner Roman Grandinetti and his family are originally from Brooklyn — but the Bedford Avenue spot is their first location in the borough.

The sandwich and coffee hot spot was met with a warm welcome in Brooklyn.
"Hell yeah .. no more trips to the city to get a [fire] sandwich," one person wrote on Instagram.

Regina's now sits on Bedford Avenue between Lexington and Greene Avenues, taking over Valentine's Pizza space, according to its website.

From the spot, they'll serve up sandwiches named after family members, like the Uncle Jimmy — one of Regina's most popular sandwiches — which is a mix of prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, hot sopressata, arugula, roasted red peppers and hot Calabrian Chili spread.
Photos of the new Bedford Ave spot show exposed brick walls and shelves lined with tomato cans, a Barbie Ferrari toy car, boxing gloves, Ghia drinks, hats and colorful light fixtures.
Regina's is already up and running out of four shops across New York City, including its newest in Yorkville, which opened in November.
To owner Roman Grandinetti, brick-and-mortar stores are a treat in an increasingly online world, he told Patch at the Yorkville opening.
"I think when the younger generation speaks to each other it's all digital — it's no real-life interaction. And I think that a handshake is unbelievably valuable still, and it's part of my heritage and how I grew up," he said.
