Bed-Stuy Murder Means Life Sentence For Brooklyn Gang Member: DA
The man is accused of murdering another gang member in Bed-Stuy in 2015, prosecutor said.

BED-STUY, NY — A man accused of murdering another Brooklyn gang member in Bed-Stuy was found guilty Monday after a lengthy trial, U.S. Attorney Breon Peace announced.
Marvin "Mukk" Pippins, 32, of Brooklyn, now faces a life behind bars after two week trial landed him with a guilty verdict including murder, narcotics trafficking, and racketeering charges, according to Peace.
In 2015, Pippins shot Sean Peart six times in Bed Stuy over a gang rivalry, the prosecutors said. Pippins — a member of Brooklyn-based gang 5-9 Brims — said he killed Peart to avenge his brother's death, unrelated to gang activity, according to law enforcement source.

A law enforcement source said Peart did not kill Pippins' brother, and the argument failed to influence the jury.
“Pippins will now face very serious consequences for a brutal crime that was motivated by a senseless feud with rivals," Peace said. "Pippins brazenly committed a gang-related murder with a gun, in broad daylight in Brooklyn, taking another human’s life on behalf of his criminal enterprise which also trafficked drugs and perpetrated fraud in our community.”

Pippins was also accused of drug trafficking, financial fraud, use of stolen identities and selling crack and cocaine, according to Peace.
Pippins was named in a February, 2020 indictment including 11 5-9 Brims members, at which point he was a fugitive, according to Peace's office. He was apprehended in April, 2020 in Pennsylvania, court records show.
