But the NYPD says he just ran into some scaffolding.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Corey Green, 33, has come forward with claims that an NYPD officer stomped on his scrotum while another officer pinned him to the ground Saturday night during a robbery investigation in Bed-Stuy.
An NYPD spokesman said the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau is looking into Green’s claims. And according to his high-profile Brooklyn lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, Green is “fully cooperating” with the investigation.

As of now, though, officers’ account of what happened at 840 Monroe St. last Saturday couldn’t be more of a departure from Green’s.
The NYPD’s version goes that around 10 p.m. that night, cops responded to a report of a robbery at the location. After canvassing the area, police say, they returned to the scene of the robbery and observed five males standing outside 840 Monroe. Of the five males, the robbery victim identified one of them — not Green — as the robber.

At that point, Green “runs off and runs into a building scaffolding,” a police spokesman told Patch.
Green was wanted for an unrelated crime, the spokesman said, so officers took him down to the station — where he began complaining of pain in his scrotum.
That’s not how Green tells it.
Rubenstein, the injured man’s lawyer, said his client was inside an apartment when police barged in and “told everyone to come downstairs for a lineup.”
Once the lineup had been dispersed and another man identified as the robbery suspect, Rubenstein said, one of the investigating cops threw Green to the ground — holding him in place while another officer “kicked him in the balls.”
“He needed surgery to restore the blood flow to his private parts,” Rubenstein said. “He’s in terrible pain.”
Rubenstein sent Patch a series of photos showing the state of Green’s genitals. They appear to be covered in stitches and swollen to a frightening size.
“It was inhumane,” Green’s father told the New York Daily News. “It was done to inflict a powerful pain.”
