NYPD Cop Car Injures 2 In NYC Crash, Police Say

The chaotic scene unfolded Tuesday night in Bed-Stuy.

BED-STUY, NY — A cop car crashed into two cars, one of which hit three people, while it was responding to an emergency on Tuesday night in Bed-Stuy, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD's officers driving the car, the cop car had its lights and sirens on as it was traveling northbound on Malcolm X Boulevard through the Macdounough Street intersection when its front end collided with two other cars, both traveling westbound on Macdounough Street at around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The officers driving the police car were uninjured, police said.

The driver in the first impacted car was taken to Woodhull Hospital with leg pain, and the driver in the second car was taken to Kings County Hospital with back pain.

The impact of the crash caused the second car to hit three people, police said.

Police were not able to provide information to Patch on the condition of the three pedestrians struck, but a neighborhood source told Patch two people were seen lying in the roadway until an ambulance arrived.
