Earthman Experience to Play BAM, May 18

Earthman Experience will play at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's BAM Cafe this Saturday, May 18, 9:00 p.m.

Haitian-born vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Richard “Earthman” Laurent presides over this nine-piece funk ensemble.

Fela Kuti-inspired Afrobeat meets tribal house jams in the live turntablism of former Fugees DJ Hard Hittin Harry, who finds the danceable backbeat of West African djembe. The result is a sound that’s both sensual and mystic.

BAM is located at 30 Lafayette Avenue, Peter Jay Sharp Building.
