Fire Breaks Out At Bed-Stuy School: FDNY

The fire started in the third-floor bathroom of 280 Hart St. in Bed-Stuy, FDNY officials said.

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York City Fire Department responded to a call Friday morning about a fire on the third floor of a school at 280 Hart St. in Bed-Stuy.

The school is K304 campus at P140K.

The fire broke out just after 10 a.m. in the third-floor bathroom, FDNY said. The elementary school serves children pre-K to 5th grade.

One patient was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull. According to FDNY, 60 firefighters and emergency responders rushed to the scene.

Firefighters got the fire under control by 10:31 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
