First 'Tastes Of Bed-Stuy' Food Crawl To Honor Late Local Legend
The crawl — the first for Taste of Brooklyn season — will kick off in April in honor of business owner and "food entrepreneur" Lloyd Porter.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A beloved food crawl will set up shop in Bed-Stuy for the first time this year in honor of a local legend and "food entrepreneur" lost to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizers of the "Taste of Brooklyn" food crawls announced this week that a new Bed-Stuy festival will kick off their 2022 season in April.
The "Taste of Bed-Stuy" will celebrate neighborhood icon Lloyd Porter, a business owner, actor and neighborhood institution who died in May 2020.

"Savor the entrepreneurial, delicious food and drink talent of this historic, majestic neighborhood," organizers from Seeds in the Middle wrote.
So far, 10 local eateries have signed up for the food crawl, which lets neighbors lead their own personal food and drink tour through the neighborhood.

The food crawl will also include a pop-up of Seeds in the Middle's Hip2B Healthy Market and flea market. Proceeds from Taste of Brooklyn events go toward the participating restaurants and to the organization's school-run markets, gardens and cafes, which aim to help food deserts in the borough.
The Taste of Brooklyn season is also set to include food crawls in Flatbush, Gowanus, Park Slope and Crown Heights, according to the schedule.
