Today: Free Talk on Bed-Stuy Architecture
Two local historians discuss the community's architectural legacy -- past, present and future
Bedford Stuyvesant is known the world over for its rich architectural history.
However, although the neighborhood has one of the largest inventories of Victorian architecture in the country, many of Bedford Stuyvesant’s great buildings are now gone and pretty much forgotten.
“We do face a serious treat of losing more of our beautiful buildings and the neighborhood changing it character forever,” said Morgan Munsey, architectural historian and Bed-Stuy resident. “Just take a look at the buildings in the photo gallery that we no longer have with us today.”
