FRIDAY
- Check out the free community screening of The House I Live In, an award winning documentary about the failed war on drugs and mass incarceration of low income communities. This screening is sponsored by the Campaign to End the New Jim Crow and the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Center, at Restoration, 1368 Fulton Street, 6:30 p.m.
- Have you RSVP'd yet for AFROS - A Celebration Of Natural Hair on Friday July 26th 6pm-9pm. To be held at the incredible event space powerHouse Arena in Dumbo Brooklyn. Featuring a book signing, a full scale Afros exhibition of 30 plus selected images, DJ Spinna on the 1nes & 2wos, an open bar, gift bags and so much more! Co-hosted by Renae Bluitt of Crush Media, Tamara Hood of LivelyHood & Susan Martin of MartinMPR. Such major media outlets as New York Magazine, Vibe, Vogue, Essence and many others will be covering this event on Friday July 26th. This will truly be a Celebration!

SATURDAY
- This Saturday, 400 MacDonough Street Block Association will be having a major "Stoop Sale" on July 27, from 10am-4pm on the 400 block of MacDonough St. Between Malcolm X Blvd and Patchen Aves. We hope to raise money for our block party, our block association and have a wonderful time doing it! We'll be selling tons of stuff like furniture, toys, DVDs, CDs, games, clothing and collectibles at really cheap prices! ...or you can just haggle with folks. We're right near Liquid Oz, Simplicity Bar and Cafe, and the new Bread Love Cafe. So come on over for a visit!
- It's that time of year again! Every summer, at the TAMA Summer Fest, Tompkins Avenue becomes an active, pedestrian-friendly, public space for aikido, bike maintenance, classes, discounts, dance, music, food, arts, games, clothing drive, mural painting, yoga, children's book reading, poetry, fashion shows, prizes & much more. Come out, bring the kids and the whole family, 11:00 a.m. at Tompkins Avenue between Hancock and Putnam.
